The Willows — Georgian Restoration
Chelmsford, Essex
Watch the Build
Project Overview
A meticulous restoration of a Grade II listed Georgian townhouse, returning the property to its former glory whilst introducing contemporary living standards. Works included lime plaster reinstatement, sash window restoration, structural underpinning and a sensitive rear extension approved by the conservation officer. The original cornicing, ceiling roses and wide-plank oak floors were painstakingly restored by our heritage joinery team.
Obstacles We Overcame
Extensive structural movement in the east gable wall, requiring underpinning beneath a protected boundary. Original lath-and-plaster ceilings needed consolidation without replacement.
How We Solved It
Engineered mini-pile underpinning completed in 12 days with zero disruption to the neighbour. Heritage plasterers used traditional lime techniques to stabilise and restore original ceilings in situ.

“They understood that this house deserved respect. Every detail was considered — from the lime mortar mix to matching the original crown mouldings. Absolutely faultless.”
